Fitzreynold “Noldy” Cadet

Noldy, of Haitian descent, was born in Brooklyn, New York as Fitzreynold Cadet. Noldy’s love for music has been influenced by his family. He grew up with his father; a musician passionate about all types of music, and learned at an early age how to play bass guitar. With the moral values of his mother, he continued his musical education. In elementary school; his teacher Miss Karen Ham (classically trained pianist and cellist), trained him everyday on reading music, the fundamentals, and performance.  When he was with his mother, Noldy would fly from time to time to Haiti; his parents’ home country, and fell in love with its beauty and culture, and especially the music. KOMPA, RACINE, and its Carnival. Thanks to this music, Noldy met his best friend, Ruddy Nau; the son of the founding member of Tabou Combo Hermann Nau. With Ruddy, Noldy played music in church, created music and discovered Zouk. While learning all this musical sound, he attended Bishop Loughlin Private High School and took his musical skills to another level. The music program, ran by instructor Mr. Louis Maffei was intense but fun. Mr. Louis Maffei taught him a motto, “One group, one sound = Teamwork “. During his 4 years in high school, he sang, danced, and played all instruments; particularly bass reggae, and won many trophies and prizes. One day in a club; he meets Carlos Vieux. He was seeking a musician for a new group, CARIMI. Integrate CARIMI? Noldy wasn’t sure because he was still in high school. Especially since he had received a scholarship from one of the best music schools in New York. While passing his baccalaureate and finishing his recording engineering degree; Noldy joined the group Carimi. Carimi later became the most popular Haitian group specializing in new generation Kompa music. Noldy became one of the most prominent and sought after bassists in the Haitian music industry (HMI). He traveled the world with Carimi for more than 8 years. Afterwards, Noldy decided to continue his musical career where he worked with artists like LL Cool J, spending hours in studios working with various other artists, performing, and creating experiences in all types of music. Noldy even became a member of two Rock groups; “Blameshift” and “The Still Life”. Later he went on tour with T-Micky’s band for 3 years gaining lots of great productions, experiences, and connections. Fitzreynolds’ life took a big turn when his mother was diagnosed with cancer; passing away in 2016, at which time Noldy decided to take a big break. Music didn’t have the same flavor without his mother. In 2017, the group VAYB was created from the sad separation of the group CARIMI that occurred a short time before, and Michael Guirand; the lead singer, recruited him. Since then Noldy has traveled the world with his group. Noldy’s music is his life experience. Noldy is music. He lives and breathes music. You see it through his performances and hear it through his sound. Now you hear his story through music.
